Encounters- bent over woman

Today we look at the story of the bent-over woman (Luke 13: 10-17), whom Jesus identifies in the crowd at the local synagogue where he is teaching. He calls her forward and heals her, to the disgust of the leader of the synagogue who chastises the woman and the crowd, not Jesus, for seeking healing on the Sabbath. In his response Jesus speaks of the woman being bound by Satan.
It would appear of course that the Jewish leaders were bound by a strict interpretation of the law, not only for themselves but for the Jewish population in general. They were also quite hypocritical!  In this story it is the woman who finds release while the Jewish leaders remain bound.
People are sometimes bound by circumstances that ‘bend them over’. At times it is a product of their own making, but often it is caused by something outside of their control. Is there something bending you over from which you seek release and healing?
